Data and evidence can be powerful tools to help us spotlight inequities, better understand root causes, and achieve greater impact. But leaders too often make prejudiced choices using data, not understanding the equity implications of their work and requiring historically disadvantaged communities to contort themselves into the narrow boxes of the status quo. In this “virtual fireside chat,” Heather Krause and Michael McAfee discuss how, when beginning from a place of justice, leaders can develop data and evidence strategies that better account for biases and are aimed at achieving racial equity.
