Project Evident Welcomes Matt Camp as Chief Operating Officer
BOSTON — Project Evident, the nonprofit that harnesses the power of data, evidence, and technology to achieve greater impact for students and communities, is pleased to announce that Matt Camp has joined our executive team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this crucial role, Matt will spearhead and integrate Project Evident’s top-tier operational functions — encompassing administration, finance, talent strategy, and technology — to create a robust foundation for sustained growth and impact.
Matt brings over two decades of leadership experience across nonprofits, philanthropy, for-profit enterprises, and impact investing. Throughout his distinguished career, Matt has built strong operational systems, scaled organizations thoughtfully, and fostered teams grounded in diligence, equity, and trust.

I’m eager to partner with Founder and CEO, Kelly Fitzsimmons, to ensure Project Evident remains at the forefront of data and evidence, providing high-quality services to practitioners,” said Matt.
Most recently, Matt helped mission-driven climate forward intermediaries, impact investing funds, and social entrepreneurs strengthen their internal operations and growth strategies through his sole proprietorship consulting firm. Previously, he was managing director for a corporate venture capital fund and a global foundation. Earlier in his career, for over a decade, Matt led a Boston-based national nonprofit focused on inclusive entrepreneurship and wealth creation in several roles, including as president and COO. Over the years, his responsibilities included managing fund operations, capital allocation, compliance, talent development, and strategic partnerships — skills that will be invaluable in scaling Project Evident’s initiatives.
